Congratulations, Toni and Team Airport, on a strong year in 2025. In just one year, you have visibly advanced the airport business and established clear structures. That trust is paying off. With the start of 2026, you are now also taking on responsibility for the airport business in Denmark. Next step: More responsibility. More room to shape things. Together, we look back on 2025 and ahead to the year to come.
One year ago, you joined the Gi Group. Looking back today, what were the most important milestones for you personally and professionally during this first year?
First, I would like to thank my team for fully embracing and implementing my ideas, enabling us to continue driving the development of Gi Group Airport Solutions. I also thank Gi Group and its management for the trust and creative freedom I was given to implement my ideas.
My first year truly flew by, and we are proud that we established a presence at 10 airports in Germany within 12 months. Our flexibility in projects allowed us to significantly support several clients and we successfully reached our peak in the summer. What I found particularly positive about Gi Group was the strong mutual support across different business lines, the sharing of ideas, and the shared commitment to the company’s success.
You are now also taking on responsibility for the airport business in Denmark. How did this come about?
The idea and the desire arose from Stefano Tomasi, Stefano Colli-Lanzi and Christian Wolf during discussions at international management meetings. Ultimately, it’s certainly due to my passion for aviation that we think more internationally and then like to put that into practice. I’m proud that this step has been taken so quickly. Personally, I’m also getting to know the Danish market, and expanding our network for international collaborations is exciting, because I’m 100% convinced that our idea of implementing our “Airport Services” specialization in the temporary and permanent sectors will also be well-received in other countries, thus strengthening our relationships with our customers.
From your perspective, what distinguishes the Danish airport market from the German one: organizationally, culturally or operationally?
The legal framework for personnel services differs significantly, and I can only address the implications for the airport sector in the coming months. The fact remains that Copenhagen Airport is experiencing strong growth in passenger numbers, flight movements and air freight handling. We want to leverage this potential and offer our clients our flexible national and international recruitment tools. Copenhagen Airport needs to understand our passion for aviation and the expertise that the Airport Solutions team brings to the table.
With what focus are you approaching the development of the airport business in Denmark? What is at the top of your list?
We are currently developing our 10 locations in Germany to enable us to deploy our employees year-round on various projects and to continue growing in terms of employment. We have set ourselves a target of nearly 100% growth in Germany by 2026.
In Denmark, the focus for 2026 is on establishing ourselves in the market with our first customers and deployed employees, so that we can then implement a similar development strategy to that in Germany by 2027.
2026 sounds like growth. At the end of the year, how would you define that it was a successful year for Team Airport, both professionally and strategically?
Yes, 2026 and the plans for 2027 are clearly focused on growth and further development. We want to expand our portfolio, strengthen our relationships with our customers and of course, broaden our customer base. Furthermore, I’m eager to see how the merger of our clusters and the individual airport locations works out. This centralization within the clusters will be an asset for the teams and will bring even greater flexibility to fulfilling our customers’ orders.
Strategically, my goal is to ensure that we expand and significantly develop our business at all 10 locations and that our customers appreciate all the services we provide.
In closing: What is currently driving you most as you look ahead to the coming months?
Together with the airport teams, we aim to provide our clients with 100% staffing with security clearance in all projects, to tap into new markets and to demonstrate to smaller, regional airports that we can offer a suitable service product with cross-qualifications and flexible deployment options.
My personal motivation is that with Gi Group Airport Solutions, we can offer our clients and other interested companies a significant improvement in workforce planning, allowing everyone to benefit and creating win-win situations. Our service enables airport employees to have periods of rest and recovery, even during peak seasons.
